Imagineer Systems: mocha planar tracking videos

  1. In this free, live webinar, Imagineer Systems product specialist, Mary Poplin covers planar tracking stabilization techniques using mocha AE, mocha Pro, and mocha import+ for After Effects and Nuke.

More than just a tracker! Use mocha's planar tracking tools to artistically stabilize or refocus your shots, extend your sets, and more.

Stabilization is a common problem editors and VFX artists face in film and video post-production. Artists can use stabilization to lock down a shot, refocus a shot, stabilize an area for easy visual effects creation, or even extend the set. Often, stabilization requires time consuming, multiple feature tracking, but mocha offers an efficient solution; with mocha's planar tracker you can choose to lock off a camera, smooth the camera out, or refocus the shot of important objects or people in a scene.

    Webinar Topics Include:
    How the planar tracker works
    Stabilize Viewer vs Stabilize Module
    Stabilize for AE
    Stabilize for Nuke
Stabilizing to Smooth camera motion and more
    Types of Stabilization
    Automatic Edge Fill
    Set Extension with Stabilization

Software covered: mocha AE CC, mocha Pro v3, Adobe After Effects, Nuke, mocha import +

  4. This was a sequence I created for a friend of mine for the closing shot of his senior thesis. General principles involving the glass creation were based off of a tutorial by Andrew Kramer. I edited in After Effects CS6, in conjunction with Mocha AE and 3DS MAX. My only complaint was the shot didn't turn out as smooth as I would have like it to, which is mainly the result of using a cheap tripod.

Adaptation of Disney's classic The Lion King where we removed all animals from the movie's title sequence. Leaving us with the beautiful yet oppressive backgrounds of the African savanna.

Just to be clear. This is not an attack on Disney or anyone that worked on The Lion King. We are huge fans of their work. It's an homage to the original in which we used an already powerful work to deliver an even more powerful message.
