Missouri College Advising Corps (MCAC) provides access to college advisement to 6,710 Kansas City high school students, 1,354 of whom are seniors.

In the fall of 2010 a new sidewalk was built connecting Fairmount Elementary and Fairmount Park in Independence, MO. The sidewalk was part of the city's improvement plan to build more sidewalks in Independence neighborhoods, especially near schools. Fairmount LINC Site Council along with school and city officials worked to promote the Fairmount sidewalk project to the top of the city's list.
FAST programs are an important part of LINC Caring Communities which make a positive impact in the lives of children and families. This is the story of 5 FAST programs in 4 school districts in the Kansas City area.
LINC returns to six schools, previously in the Kansas City Mo. School District, that are now a part of the Independence School District. Over 2,000 community volunteers came out to improve their schools. LINC now has 13 Caring Communities sites in Independence.
LINC promotes science education in its before- and after-school programs. Mad Science lets students explore critical thinking, hands-on experimentation and discovery, while encouraging scientific literacy.

After several tragic cases of abuse and neglect of children in the Independence, MO area, a new initiative was formed. The Independence Child Welfare Initiative is a collaborative effort of the Independence School District, the Missouri Children's Division, and the Local Investment Commission.
