This project was created with the same spirit that america was founded on. Our intentions are to connect everyone in america through the lens of this camera and social networking sites. We can't do this without you. We want to tell your story and show your city or town through photographs of you, and people you know. As we travel around america looking for people and places to shoot you will be able to keep track of where we are going and help us decide where we go next. Join us in our journey by liking our facebook to get yourself photographed by us.
An extra special thanks to Brandon Rein, Scotty Hoffman and Trevor Atwater.

Newlyweds Amy and Alex were married in Washington, D.C. in 2010. Eager to start a family, they went through artificial insemination to conceive a child.
Married couples are entitled to 1,138 federal rights benefits and privileges. Under the Defense of Marriage Act, same-sex couples are denied these rights, even if they are legally married.
In the state of Virginia, same-sex couples are banned from adoption. Since Alex is not the biological parent, she will be considered a "legal stranger" to the child.
Visit the Legal Stranger Project for more information about the denial of 1,138 rights to same-sex couples:

There's nothing quite like the political spectacle that gets put on here in Iowa every four years. You spend endless hours driving to small town coffee shops, firehouses, and American Legion halls chasing the candidates that are vying for the Presidency. There is a saying that "You can't fake Iowa." Iowans expect politicians to get out and meet them face to face, shake hands, and answer questions. The best moments covering campaigns happen when the façade of the campaign breaks down, and real interactions take place. I was curious about what Iowans are looking for in a year when one candidate hasn't broken away from the pack. Watch the video below to see what I found.
Just think about it… What if you were trapped under something heavy and the mouse was out of your reach? Scary, right? That's exactly why we have these keyboard shortcuts so you can still use Vimeo until the help arrives.
