Spelly saw Fa' from a distance at our local cafe in Byron Bay and knew instantly we had to have her in our next shoot. Ignorant that Fa was actually one of Bali's most well known models, Spelly skipped up to her and whispered 'um, excuse me - but would you, um, model for us?' – Fa was gracious and generous and after visiting our boutique agreed to do a shoot the next day! Operation "pull a shoot together in 24 hours!"
Fa, it turns out, is gorgeously down to earth, friendly, generous and an incredible model to work with. I told her my idea for this shoot - which was 'no matter how free you feel floating around the world on gypsy adventures - sometimes you're never as free as you feel in the quiet and solitude of your own home...'
We shot in my little home in Broken Head on dark and sultry afternoon - with Stevie Nicks and the tall gum trees whispering in the wind - I think we captured the feeling perfectly.
