This is a love letter to the fans and the city of Oakland, a statement of fierce belief not only in the team but in the community's ability to find strength from strife, to show that our biggest challenges provide our greatest triumphs. This project's goal was to bring our fans together into an emotional and raucous cacophony of over fifty thousand voices. It was designed to play in-stadium for the fans in attendance just moments before TBS came live to the building for Game 1 of the 2013 American League Division Series and all subsequent playoff games.
This highlight video for the 2013 Oakland A's showcases a more emotional side of a baseball team. Rather than showcasing the most marquee players, I looked to the workhorses of the team to develop and nurture a greater emotional connection between the fans and the organization. I used up-and-coming players, or players who weren't household names, rather than guys who are more commonly seen on ESPN.
