23-25 April 2009 REVOLUTION-PER-MINUTE: ONE ACCIDENT; TWO PARTIES: THREE VERSION RPM is a dramatic musing on collision: what happens when lives, bodies and memories plow into one another. One high-speed motorcycle totals itself, taking an unsuspecting pedestrian with it while an incredulous passer-by witnesses the whole event. RPM distends this point of impact into a series of tectonic vignettes; making this an intensely warped encounter with the uncontrollable conditions of velocity. Conceived by Director Choy Ka Fai and Written by Robin Loon, RPM is a contemporary theatrical experience that flirts with what defines visual arts, dance and theatre. Haruki Murakami DANCE DANCE DANCE is inspired by Haruki Murakami’s celebrated novel of the same title. This four part contemporary performance explores the disconnect between realities and dreams. Through a dialogue of dance and meditative images, we rearrange perspectives and patterns of remembering as we search for fragments of distant dreams to bridge the divide between realities and dreams. V.I.S.T.A Lab employs a modular workshop structure where the diverse energies of the various artists are engaged in the same space. These incubation spaces open up at irregular intervals, inviting the public for process-presentations. The modular cells may coalesce into a full-scale multimedia production. However, the modular workshop structure encourages a continuing growth beyond any product that may arise out of these interactions.
