Jiro Ose turned to freelance work after four years as a staff photographer at New York Newsday.
Born in Osaka, Japan, Jiro received a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1993. Since graduation, he has worked as a photographer at four daily newspapers, one in Singapore and three in New York. He has covered Haiti, Chad (Sudan), China, Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, the United States and Kurdistan.
Jiro is now based in Beirut, Lebanon.
