A short film about an artist and her 5 year journey to create an installation piece that is about to exhibit at a BC art gallery. Her work is a multi-media installation that speaks about the meat we consume and where and how it comes to our plate. Her intent is to become more aware of the fact that there is never a feast without a sacrifice.
My name is kate bradford, a BC film maker who made this film about my friend and mentor,
Betty Spackman.

Kate’s creative work was for many years in Toronto as a Senior Production Editor at the CBC. Among other projects, Kate created award-winning documentaries for the national CBC art series, Adrienne Clarkson Presents. After leaving the CBC in 2000, Kate turned her attention to sculpting, training in Austria with master sculptor Gabi Berger. In 2006, Kate moved to BC to continue her sculpting work and began to re-establish herself back into video work. These days, Kate focuses on camera but continues to edit as well as work in producing, directing and consulting. As an artist herself, Kate continues to sculpt with different mediums and has had 4 successful exhibits. Blending these different visual connections, helps cross over to her video work, she has an eye for the artistic and unusual shot. Kate is an active member of the BC Professional Videographer’s Association and as well sits on their Board of Director’s.
