Guðrún er tíu ára stelpa. Einn skóladag er hún kölluð inn á skrifstofu skólastjórans. Skólastjórinn tilkynnir henni að jeppabifreið í hennar eigu hafi brunnið til kaldra kola fyrr um morguninn. Á meðan að Guðrún eyðir frímínútunum í að reyna að átta sig á því hvað skólastjórinn hafi átt við fer af stað rannsókn á brunanum sem beinist að Guðrúnu sjálfri.
