The Lilla G. Frederick Pilot Middle School is in Dorchester, MA and is a member of Boston Public Schools. It's mission is to provide students in grades six through eight with a rigorous academic curriculum within a stimulating and nurturing environment. The school serves the whole child—mind, body and spirit—as well as families and the community in which the children reside. Inquiry, exploration, experience, connections and hands-on learning all facilitate and complement the core academic curricula and support the school’s vision of developing life-long learners.

The Frederick, with the tireless support of so many in the community, has taken the bold step of bringing cutting edge technology into the classroom in an effort to provide our students with the most comprehensive educational experience possible. Starting in 2007, all LGF students have had their own laptop for in school use. LGF families also participate in Technology Goes Home, a broadband adoption and technology training program that supplies family graduates with a Netbook computer for use at home. The LGF neighborhood benefits from a wireless broadband network pilot established by the city of Boston and openairboston.net to provide in home Internet connection.
