As a creative exercise Lippi made a remix "blend" of some of Paul Simon's music. Mixing music, rhythms and vocals from various pieces he sculpted a colorful homage to one of his favorite songwriters. The mix is as eclectic as Paul's fantastic catalog.
Lippi decided to make a simple video from images he found on the internet to accompany his new musical blend. There's a lot of "Ken Burns Effect" and some of the pics are a bit under par but the message is there. It's a cool way to look at a master's work in a creative little nut shell. Much better than a 30 second clip on itunes.
Look for the little things... A blurry George Harrison on stage with Paul melts into color as the orchestral movement from "old friends" bleeds over "America"... “The Boxer” begins with a hint of the intro drums from “Obvious Child” and the "Rhythm of the Saints" feathered CD jacket is shown... A delay effect is added to stress the lyrics “All lies and jest, still the man hears what he wants to hear, and disregards the rest” as Paul appers with The Muppets. The New York City shots with the refrain from "The only Living Boy in New York"
