A little rough around the edges, after effects keeps crashing from memory overruns (which I don't get) so I just left this as it is for now.
Almost forgot; Music: Soda Popinski - Javelin
Edit: Not sure exactly how it's related, but I fixed my crashing problem by removing the open gl plugin. AE is rock solid now.
I shot this for the "Make it interesting" project here on vimeo. It was a lot of fun. I just took out one of my daggers and stuck it to a tree and started filming.
One of the things that really impresses me is that for smaller objects the Hv30 can gets some nice shallow depth of field. And the manual focus nub works pretty good once you figure how to use it properly.
This was shot entirely with no attachments. Just locked the exposure and shot in good lighting and it looks pretty freaking good.
Shot with an Hv30 (no attachments), TV mode, shutter speed 250, 24p. locked exposure. Shot around 3 to 3:30 p.m. Edited with Final Cut Pro, graded with Colorista.

Make It Interesting
For this project:
One of the things we learned in college for videography was to take one subject and make it interesting, even though in reality, it's boring with one shot. I wish I still had my footage from then so I could use it as a sample, but I'll do a new one to show you what I mean. One of the things we learned in college for videography was to take one subject and make it interesting, even though in reality, it's boring with one shot. I wish I still had my footage from then so I could use it as a sample, but I'll do a new one to show you what I mean. I'm going to take a mailbox, and only the mailbox, and make it interesting by showing different shots, pans, and angles. You can take anything you want, as long as it's one subject only. Could be a person, a thing, animal, tree, you name it.
I'll upload the mailbox later once i'm done shooting and editing.
Have fun! *Remember, play with pans, close-ups, different angles...

Another episode of once upon a time. Narrated by my 4 year old daughter, JAZz.

We recently made a narrative music video in the film noir style, and would be really happy, if you would add it to your channel ;)
