What does it take to recruit, prepare, support and retain excellent teachers for Jewish day schools? Join us in this spotlight session from the 2011 Network for Research in Jewish Education Conference to discuss these issues, drawing on findings from a recent report, The Delet Alumni Survey: A Comprehensive Report on the Journey of Beginning Jewish Day School Teachers, available at brandeis.edu/mandel/projects/delettracking.html.

The session starts with a brief presentation by Mandel Center researcher Eran Tamir about the preparation and retention of high quality teachers. It is followed by a panel including a day school teacher, head of school, and a researcher. The session concludes with discussion about the factors that may help retain high quality beginning teachers in JDS.
