  2. A man of many trades, Oliver Spencer's immediate role includes designer, shopkeeper and all around creative. We caught up with the eponymous British label who's on the cusp of celebrating its 10th anniversary. Embodying both the past and the present Spencer offers some interesting words about his efforts as well as a preview of his (now opened) shoe store.

  3. Brothers Chris and Kirk Bray have been producing leather goods for the last ten years. They launched Billykirk from Los Angeles in 1999, learning their craft from a third generation leather maker. A simple leather strap kick started the business, a decade later their collection has flourished into other offerings that consists of bags, belts, shoes, wallets, hats and other accessories. Since expanding and moving their operation to the East, they've employed a group of Amish leather makers to produce much of their line, while wrapping up production in their studio. We visited the brothers over the summer to observe their operation first hand and to discover the beauty behind the process. Photo by Rose Callahan

  4. Last year Tenue de Nîmes was invited to New Castle by Nigel Cabourn. He wanted to share a sneak preview with us of his 2011 Spring Summer collection. He told us about his search for old designs, materials and fabrics. He shared some of his most bizarre finds with us and told us about his quest to put these finds in a contemporary, Nigel Cabourn perspective. This search for a perspective led him to this season's theme: The Submarine. This is how Nigel created a naval season with a true Cabourn touch. We were honored to get such an outstanding introduction to the collection. In Tenue de Nîmes' opinion this short interview shines an extra light on the extraordinary SS11 collection by Nigel Cabourn. Enjoy the show.

  5. Nestled in the heart of downtown Victoria, B.C. is Viberg Boot. Home to three generations of master craftsmen, the Viberg tradition involves making the best quality leather boots available. While they've traditionally made footwear for logging and labouring, the family owned & operated company is now finding success in lifestyle markets halfway around the world in Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan and the UK.

Inventory Magazine paid the Viberg factory a visit to find out more about what makes Viberg such a special company in todays mass produced world. The answer: hand-made quality right down to the brass tacks. Literally.
