A 522-foot floating hospital ship, the Anastasis—translated as “resurrection”—gives true meaning to her name, giving back life to the many individuals who come out in droves for critical medical care. Shunned by society and often treated as outcasts in their communities, these victims of gross deformities come to Mercy Ships with hope that their life situation can truly change. Once on board, the patients are treated by skilled volunteer doctors and surgeons who have come from all corners of the globe to volunteer their times and skills.
With a lack of access to healthcare in West Africa, many suffer or even die from easily treatable medical conditions. While following the model of Jesus, Mercy Ships brings hope and healing to these forgotten poor by providing free medical treatment and partnering with local governments to improve health care infrastructure.
From all of us at Mercy Ships, we just want to say "Thank You" for your support. Because of you, Mercy Ships was able to bring hope and healing to thousands in West Africa last year alone. We will continue helping the lame to walk, the blind to see, and transforming lives in the upcoming year.
