I'm Mike Leigh Cooper and I believe in passion for people and stories.
I think PASSION makes things happen, PEOPLE shape our world and STORIES tie us all together.
People from every culture, in every place everywhere have a story to tell. In such a social world, stories need to be shared.
Stories have always shaped the way we understand the world to be, how it is and how we want it be.
I have a background in theatre, video and audio production with some youth and support work. I have strong skills and interest in the creative use of technology and I love what I do. I occupy the space between media producer, technician, journalist and facilitator.
This means that I bridge really cool technical stuff with really fun people things - whether it's workshops, festivals or one-to-one: it's the passion that counts.
To really make a difference, the territory has to be international, issues need to be universal but personal and ideas should be open and flexible.
Let's work together to inspire…

This film tells the story about how a group of media mentors and volunteers were able to share their media-orientated skills with the community of York by teaching workshops in blogging, social networking, tv/radio broadcasting, websites and more.
The group were able to make use of top-quality equipment that's ready for use in the new Explore York Library, to be opened in May 2010. The new facilities will enable community groups and residents to create their own podcasts, short films, radio broadcasts and social networking sites; and some of the portable equipment will be available for loan by community groups.
The Explore Media project is funded by the Department of Business Innovation and Skills as part of the Learning Revolution, and is delivered by the City of York Council in partnership with Khaoz Media, York CVS, Future Prospects and Accessible Arts & Media.

Youth Social Inclusion and Homelessness: RoundaboutSheffield 2010 [HQ]
12:51 Added about 2 months ago
A short video made in Sheffield on an EU, Davinci funded project which aimed to examine the topic of "Youth Social Inclusion" from a variety of perspectives.
The production of this short doc-style video took us to a homeless shelter in Sheffield where the youth media crew spoke to other young people who were homeless at the time.
Mike Leigh Cooper of The Creative Condition was a media trainer for the week long project and assisted the production of this short with a team of other project participants.

This channel provides a selection of videos that demonstrate some of the styles of video I have created in the past.
I've tried to squeeze in some of my favorite videos that should be fun to watch, maybe share something with you and finally not be too long unless it has to be!
Just think about it… What if you were trapped under something heavy and the mouse was out of your reach? Scary, right? That's exactly why we have these keyboard shortcuts so you can still use Vimeo until the help arrives.
