Organic dairy farmer Steve Hook had been bottling his raw milk in the farmhouse kitchen until now. The arrival of a mini bottling plant was to change everything. Suddenly his raw milk business took a huge step forward, maybe even cemented his small farm's chances of survival.

"A cow must have a calf for us to have milk, simple as that" says Steve the farmer. Yet as he is the first to acknowledge, it's not so straightforward for the cow. Cows and calves form bonds which will have to be broken. Steve manages this as best he possibly can and it's heartwarming to see a farmer who cares so much.

Running a small dairy farm is tough, no doubt about it. Winter is the hardest time and in this preview scene Steve the farmer shares some of the additional problems he and small farmers everywhere are facing these days.

Steve Hook has 50 cows. His farm is tiny by today's standards, and making such a small farm pay in the UK today is near impossible. So Steve and his family have gone their own way and farm extensive, organic and raw. He's given up on the supermarkets and the big boys but instead bottles the raw milk by hand on the farm and sells it door to door in the local town.…
The Moo Man is the new documentary feature film from Trufflepig Films. We've been filming for the past couple of years and are now busy cutting the movie into shape. This is a sneak preview of an early scene from the movie.
Steve is an organic dairy farmer with a great attitude to farming but like many small farms these days he's busting a gut just to survive.
