In this message Pastor John looks at God’s healing presence through the vocation of nursing.

“I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares the Lord…”
Jeremiah 30:17, NIV

“If I tried to describe nurses and what they are best at – in one word it would be - Advocate. It is something we are taught from the first day of nursing school to the very last day. We are taught to look at the patient in a holistic, critical thinking manner… nurses look at the whole patient…”
Becky Wittman, Nurse

“God, high above, sees far below; no matter the distance,
he knows everything about us.”
Psalm 138:6, MSG

“Nursing gives me opportunities to engage people in their most trying, difficult, and vulnerable times, and to make a difference for them when they need it most.”
Andrew McCutcheon, Acute care surgical Graduate Nurse

“A man with leprosy came and knelt before [Jesus] and said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” Immediately he was cleansed of his leprosy.”
Matthew 8:1-3, NIV

“What I love about nursing is getting to know a complete stranger and hopefully impacting them for the better, not only through helping their physical, psychological or physiological ailments, but through those brief moments of calm where you have just a normal conversation and getting to know the person behind the "ailment"
Agnes Chen, Nurse

“Have mercy on me, Lord, for I am faint; heal me, Lord, for my bones are in agony.”
Psalm 6:2, NIV

“[I love] seeing the moment when someone is finally comfortable.”
Karla Walker, Nurse (imaging the heart of God!)

What if? What if the moment you're now living is meant for more? What if what you just did over the last hour was supposed to have held much more meaning, reality, and truth? What if God wants everything you do to matter more; everywhere you are to be more significant; every second you live to hold more eternity?

Often I think that this is exactly what God wants for us. I think its what he's made us for; to know his presence, to experience his being, to be embraced by his love in all things.
