El uso de la cirugía estética es ya hoy algo tan cotidiano como ir comprar el pan o tomar un café.
En el mundo se realizan más de nueve millones de intervenciones al año, siendo Brasil uno de los países que encabezan la lista de los llamados “imperios del bisturí”: te levantas por la mañana, coges tu lista de tareas y ahí, entre comprar un kilo de naranjas y recoger a los niños del colegio, está ponerse silicona o hacerse la liposucción. Los cirujanos despachan a los clientes como si de la cola de la pescadería se tratara.
Los medios de comunicación, plagados de estereotipos, saben vendernos bien y especialmente a las mujeres, la fórmula del éxito rápido: hoy es más importante tener unos pechos grandes que una carrera universitaria, y es que mientras nos mantengan entretenidas con el culto al cuerpo no hay necesidad de pensar en otras cosas: si sumamos el tiempo que una mujer dedica en su vida al cuidado de su aspecto físico daría para varios doctorados, pero la inteligencia no es…
