Overview of some changes coming in Novacut 12.04. Compared to 12.03, there's not much in terms of new features, but the existing features will be much more polished and reliable.
Thoughts?
There are some things at the Logging and Rough-Cut stages that still need a bit more work before Novacut is easy and practical to use, but this should give you a good idea of how the Storyboard and the Doodle work.

Thanks to James Raymond's hard work, we now have the real-time "preview" playback of a sequence working inside the Novacut UI. This works differently than the render server, which runs in a separate process and has no direct interaction with the UI.

You and your collaborators will be able to work on different sequences completely independently, but when working on the same sequence, our hunch is you should be looking at the same thing, and the selection focus is an important aspect of that.
We see real-time collaboration as very conversational. For example, the director might have a certain change in mind, and the easiest way to convey that change is to make it. The editor then understands what…
