Having been involved in the fashion industry for over twenty years, Frédéric Sanchez is a sound designer, who has been collaborated with fashion brands and designers, such as Prada, Marc Jacobs, Bouchra Jarrar, Jil Sander and Alexander Wang. Through his music, we find a sense of stillness and minimality, which turns out to be an unusual interpretation in the universe of fashion. Sanchez strongly believes that aesthetic sounds is poetic, and able to expand people's imagination.
“I always find natural sounds, like the sound of the wind or the sea, very poetic, I also love the footstep sounds that I often use in my work. You can actually create a film with these minimal, natural sounds.” he says. Just recently, the sound illustrator has made this a reality with his first film called Le Soldat Sans Visage. The two-minute film’s soundtrack is mainly comprised of piano and ambient environment sounds.
Lately, we are fortunate to have a custom soundtrack created by him. With a still image taken from his film Le Soldat Sans Visage, this seven-minute soundtrack consists of piano music, classical singing and recording of monotonous human voices, unraveling the simple and yet imaginative beauty of sound.
