On 14 July 2012 the Velodrome in Preston Park played host to the first public showing of VIXEN, an ambitious new production created by around 30 young people from Brighton and Hove.
Participants produced the large-scale work with the support of local artists led by installation artist, Steve Geliot, with composer Brian Lock, artist Mark Jamieson and singer songwriter Al Start.
Part performance, part installation and with film projections created by the participants and Steve Geliot shown on huge outdoor screens, the project is a collaboration between Glyndebourne opera house, Central United Reformed Church Hove, the Youth Offending Service and the Brighton and Hove Youth Arts Project.
See and hear extracts of operas and behind-the-scenes footage from Glyndebourne Opera House. The Glyndebourne Opera Festival was established in 1934 and has produced world class opera ever since.
