We Will Remember That December Afternoon
Old Town Holiday Party, December 5, 2010
They walked through the door into a Triangle Center that had been transformed. Old Town neighbors with children in tow stood in wonder at what they saw. In the North Room Christmas ornaments and Hanukah decorations hung from the ceiling. Bags of food donations for the needy covered a table dominated by a holiday tree fashioned from pine cones, seeds, and nuts. Fruit-laden punch, platters of cookies and two enormous cakes awaited the onset of hungry visitors. Poinsettia plants and glowing red candles completed the décor. The holidays had come to Old Town.
The children immediately tossed their coats and ran to the South Room. At one end of the room, Miss Amy Ewaldt had assembled ginger cookie stars, sequins, tiny “jewels”, and sparkle dust for little hands to fashion ornaments to decorate their trees or mantels. At the other end, the more adventurous bounced away inside the ever-popular moon-walker, a must…
The neighborhood gets together to enjoy meatloaf while the judges decided that Lucyna Wojtas (the Misses) wins the 2010 Meatloaf contest with her stuffed turkey meatloaf. Great neighborhood event with tons of fun, music and food.
