What better way to spend a sober fourtwenty than by going to a baseball game? I don't particularly love baseball, but I do enjoy the atmosphere of a live game. People cheering, people booing, applause for a certain batter, vendors selling cotton candy, theatric responses to bad calls... it's all amazing.
People have such loyalty to their favorite team. During the 7th inning, I took a little stroll around the Oracle Arena and saw some kid with a small A's logo tattooed on his neck. He couldn't have been older than his teen years, but regardless of his age this guy branded Oakland's baseball team's logo on his person. I can't think of anything that I would have that much dedication towards.
Apart from these observations, I've also noticed that whenever I attend a baseball game, that home team loses.
4-3, Cleveland Indians. Good Game.

I attended my friend's niece's second birthday (for the food of course). I don't get to attend too many family parties since most of my family either lives overseas and scattered throughout America.
I set the video as private just out of respect for the family. If you want to watch it though, just shoot me an email at paviddark@gmail and I'll give you the password.
**EDIT: I'll make it public for now.

The earliest birthdays that I can remember are when I turned four and five.
I only remember my fourth birthday because there's a picture of me sitting at my dad's seat at the dinner table in our old apartment in San Jose. I sat there wearing this hideous forrest green sweater and my parents brought out this huge chocolate cake for me and only me (I have no siblings, and I probably didn't have friends at the age of four). It's a really vague memory. What I can make out of it was that most of the lights in our apartment were off. We might have just gotten home from a family…
The night before this portion of the video, I spent fighting a mild fever, which was probably caused from a lack of a night's worth of sleep and from riding Tower of Terror like 6 times in a row. The microwavable bean burritos and pizza that Manuel and I ordered were pretty comforting. I guess I passed the fuck out and was snoring amuck... allegedly.. (according to my bunkmate, Jake).
So this is the second day of our trip. I woke up feeling a million times better. We ate the complementary breakfast that the Peacock Suites provided. I copped like 7 oranges. Then we headed back to Disneyland and CA Adventure.
I got to film a few of the rides (tower of terror, california screamin, mickey's fun wheel, teacups), so you guys get the POV experience. If you don't want to watch this whole episode, then please please please just watch 3:19-6:55... One of the last rides we went on was Mickey's Fun Wheel. It's essentially just a swaying human sized bird cage. It's also EJ's favorite ride.
The last time I was at Disneyland was for my senior trip in high school in 2008. Four years later I'm in a car with Manuel, Jake, Aaron, EJ and Jenny at 1 AM going there again. There was no way to start off 2012 better than this. Well maybe it could've been better if I didn't immediately get sick once we got to the hotel..
We all crammed in Manuel's stepdads pickup truck. I sat in the bitch seat, which felt like sitting on a wooden bench (by the 6 hour mark, i was dying to get out of that car). The playlist consisted of the whole Saosin self titled album, and alot of bayside (and the typical *nsync and nu-metal that we always listen to on road trips).
By the time we crawled over the Grapevine, the sun came out and reminded me i've been up for like 20 hours and that I'm probably not going to sleep anytime soon.
Then Splash Mountain woke me the fuck up.
Just think about it… What if you were trapped under something heavy and the mouse was out of your reach? Scary, right? That's exactly why we have these keyboard shortcuts so you can still use Vimeo until the help arrives.
