Nathan Lowder is a farmer in Norwood, NC and has worked with mixed cover crops for the last three years. In only two years he has already seen benefits from his cover crop, mainly though a 70-80 bu/ac. increase in yield as a result if the nitrogen boost as well as the increased moisture retention in the soil. Nathan also reports lower amount of weed pressure and a reduced need to apply herbicide.
John Pickler was another guest of our freinds in Burleigh County, ND in September 2010. He liked what he saw and knew he could benefit from mixed cover crops on his operation far away in North Carolina. Even before he arrived back in NC, John had already bought a seven way cover crop seed mix and he was broadcasting the seed in his standing cotton by mid-late September. John is anticipating great benefits from his cover crop mix.
Ray Archuleta is passionate about soil health and his passion is infectious. Ray Styer has been doing soil health long before it as fashionable and he has a gift for thinking biologically rather than chemically. I created this channel to display some of the video I shot of Ray A. when he was a guest speaker at my Applied Aquatic Sciences class. As far as I am concerned, this should be mandatory viewing for anyone doing anything
