The germ of the idea for this song goes back six or seven years. I seem to recall singing it on vacation in Hawaii. It was just about the dumbest thing I could imagine.
For years it was just this a cappella thing, but eventually it matured into a song, with harmony 'n' guitars 'n' piano 'n' everything.
I do hope you like it.

I stumbled on the phrase "I believe in you, little song" in an old notebook while getting my hair cut.
This one took about three days to produce. I'm happy with the way it came out.
"You make the junk we bump into appear."
Note that Isabel appears to be playing a piano at the end when the keyboard sound we hear is clearly an organ. The solution is that she's using a clever MIDI cartoon keyboard, invented by yours truly.
Drawings by Gerry O'Neill, photos and nearly everything else by me.
Props to Casey M. for suggesting the timpani.
This track took a long time to record. Like, months. I think the key was realizing that I couldn't sing the high parts. At least not by myself. Thanks, Casey.
Thanks to my mom for pointing out the glaring error in my original lyric ("it's an oxygen exchange machine") which, though it sings better, is just plain wrong.
Thanks also to Vanessa Ruiz for letting me use her cool heart illustration. Her stuff is at http://streetanatomy.com
Thanks always to Gerry O'Neill for drawing Isabel.
I created Readeez as an alternative to existing video for children. My goal is to make films that are equal parts entertainment and education.

I've produced about seventy Readeez so far and plan to keep making them for the next decade, somewhat in the manner of a comic strip.

Just think about it… What if you were trapped under something heavy and the mouse was out of your reach? Scary, right? That's exactly why we have these keyboard shortcuts so you can still use Vimeo until the help arrives.
