Here is a clip of some of the younger patients at Sacred Heart Hospital, having some fun with a sheet of bubble wrap. Most of these kids don't have homes or families to go back to, and the hospital has come to represent both to them now. Its been inspiring to see their resilience in the face of such loss and has been an ongoing reminder of what is truly important.

When Urban Zen visited the Pernier Clinic, we walked out to find a church march taking place in the street out front. They were promoting the communities response to the disaster and emphasizing faith as the answer.. very inspiring.

It's been difficult for many of the revolving staff of volunteers to say goodbye once their time is up. With Mel it was exceptionally tough, given that as the sole physical therapist for much of her 1 month in PaP, she had developed very close bonds with most of the in-house patients at Sacred Heart. Here, she and Joshua share a moment before saying goodbye.

As Mel got up to walk away, Joshua burst out screaming and crying. This took everyone by surprise--no one new that he could so fully grasp what was taking place. Mel sat and rocked with him for 10 minutes before handing him over to another volunteer. Coming from separate worlds, unfortunately there came a time when those worlds had to separate once again. But Mel has made a commitment to finding Joshua a long term living solution, and plans…
