Chris Roantree is an artist friend of mine that let me follow him to work one day and do some filming of his daily commute. I only had a couple hours to shoot. Looks like I need to go back and spend some more time in the city.
Top to bottom marathon on the Pali lift at A-basin. Truly one of the most legendary events in the ski world every year. No prize money (really), no press, no sponsorships, no Red Bull banners, just some guys and girls skiing almost 100,000 vert in ten hours.
Hope you like the edit. Special thanks to Mike Hagadorn for shooting a lot of the great footage, and helping with the edit.
I walked up to the lift at 6am, and the Big Boss of the whole place was out there cleaning the 5" of new snow off the brand new quad chair.
Basin opens today amidst the first big storm of the season. That place must have good karma!
Freeskier, Coors, Silverton Mountain, and Buzz.snow.com all came together to host this amazing film festival in Silverton CO. Amateur adventure filmmakers competed for a free heli ride at Silverton. You can check out the entries on vimeo. the group is called "The Beating Film Festival." Special thanks to the Wyman Hotel on Main St for their amazing hospitality, comfy beds, and great grub. Also thanks to Silverton for the tour!
Lief Borgeson and I were house mates in the early '80s. We went on multiple trips, exploring the Utah canyon lands, South Dakota's badlands and the Florida Keys. He loved nature passionately, and that love rubbed off on me. Thanks Jim Hobson
Just think about it… What if you were trapped under something heavy and the mouse was out of your reach? Scary, right? That's exactly why we have these keyboard shortcuts so you can still use Vimeo until the help arrives.
