This is my latest rig, that i made in blender 2.62. It has:
IK/FK legs,
IK/FK arms,
IK/FK drivers,
Limited rotations on bones,
Copy rotation constrains.
I also made a layer switching menu for easy to use the rig. It helps a lot, while animating, in order not to overload you with controllers. Ready for linking to the other blender files.

This is an updated version of the Alex Rig for Blender 2.63
(at the time of writing, the latest official release is 2.62, it works in this version as well as the soon to be released 2.63)

This is an Armature-less rig involving some more customary steps.
The Spine and Limbs are Meshes (with Array Modifier and the Curve Deform Modifiers) on Bezier curves which are controlled by Hooks (Hook Modifier).
The upper body is Clamed Tracked to Spine Bezier Curve and limit distanced (constraint) to head and lowerbody.
The walking mechanism is archived by parenting both the feet Hooks (empty objects) to the central 'WalkControl' circle mesh…
This was an improvised rig over my previous attempt at animating 2d characters in Blender.
Rig Breakdown:
- The Arms are a chain of bones with spine IK contraint.
and the Hand bones are the end of the chain.
- Three hooks control the bezier curve that directs the spine: the shoulder, elbow joint and the hand for each arm.
- The legs are animated with Auto IK without any IK constraint applied.
- The feets have each empty that helps…
Finally My mechano character is done which involved some customary steps to rig.
3:33 - The Head mesh is a Low poly with subsurf modifier. The Facial deformations (lips, cheeks and mouthedges are actually controlled by hooked emptys (using hooks modifier).
1:36 - The upper and lower teeth meshes are damped tracked to their respective bones (green colored) which are child to the Mouth bone that is in turn mutually Damped tracked to the Jaw bone.…
