This clip is raw from Camera E-8 on the launch umbilical tower/mobile launch program of Apollo 11, July 16, 1969. This is an HD transfer from the 16mm original. Even more excellent footage is available on our DVDs at our website at http://www.spacecraftfilms.com
The camera is running at 500 fps, making the total clip of over 8 minutes represent just 30 seconds of actual time. Narration is provided by Mark Gray (me), Executive Producer for Spacecraft Films.

This is my friend Bill's 11' tall, 58lb rocket flying on a white "M" motor to 5000' at a top speed of about 650mph. It recovered safely on a 17' parachute a short distance away from the launch pad. The SD footage in this clip is from an RCA Small Wonder solid state camcorder attached to a radio controlled plane and from another "lipstick cam" secured to the launch tower. The HD footage was shot on a Canon XHA1 and the project was edited with Sony Vegas 8 Pro.
This Nike Smoke Rocket was launched at the Midwest Power V Rocket Launch in IL in 2007. It suffered a failure due to the fact that only 3 of 5 solid rocket motors lit on ignition.
This is my 7.5" T-Smoke flying on a 6000 newton second M-2500 white formula I call "white boy". The payload is Bill Schworer's ham band ATV system w/RDAS flight data on-screen-display board. This replaces an earlier, on-board-only video. Thanks Bill, Chuck, Bob & Ken.
This channel is a place on vimeo to post your "High Power" rocket videos. If you have HD video this is the place to be. Pad cams, on-board or ground video. We want to see level cert flights, lawn darts, land sharks, CATOs and of course nice perfect flights. Construction videos would be more then welcome too. So get those HD cams out and shoot.
Just think about it… What if you were trapped under something heavy and the mouse was out of your reach? Scary, right? That's exactly why we have these keyboard shortcuts so you can still use Vimeo until the help arrives.
