This Video was created by experimental filmmaker Paul Prendergast.
The release of this album is the first part of a larger project which culminates in the the world premiere of an “alternative opera” based on the songs from the album to be premiered during the Cork Midsummer Festival 2012.
Background to Video:
The music video, though edited digitally after a specialist telecine, was all originally shot on 16mm Film.
It fuses 16mm colour and Black+White reversal film(shot by paul) and intercuts this with both specialist found footage, sourced from Craig Baldwins Other Cinema Library in San Francisco and specially treated black and white blank leader film.
All the film has been hand processed, treated(painted on, bleached,scratched,attacked)…
Another visual representation of a classic early radio recorded and analog sampled pause on pause off cassette tape to cassette tape "cut up shut up", made for paul newtapes radio active show in 1994.

In 1993-1994 paul 'pp' newtape started meticulously constructing on the most rudimentary twin cassette deck radio system(unisef) darkly satirical and politically subversive 'cut up shut ups' for his pirate radio show, broadcasting once a week all over dublin city between new years eve 1993 - march 1997. the process involved pp recording large swathes of (to his ears) painfully commercial radio broadcasts and then painstakingly deconstructing, reconstructing and re-contextualising this material,subverting the original commercially driven drivel into something a little more listenable(to an audience of left field sensibilities anyway).
