The US is the world's forth-largest source of coal exports in the world. In this video, the MV Mike Schmaeng, a 2,000 horsepower Ingram Marine shuttle boat working out of the Triangle Anchorage in Reserve, LA, takes a barge full of American-mined coal to load onto a bulk cargo ship headed across the Atlantic Ocean. The river current flowed fast in the high-water conditions on this day back in April, making it a difficult and dangerous job for the crew.
