Short visual poem done for a 24hour animation contest. We were given a theme at the beginning of the 24 hours and were to animate an atleast 30sec piece around that theme. The theme given that year was Tension.
I used the first 5 hours to concept and story board out the piece. The concept was to become a visual & aural personification of tension itself as well as emote the feeling of tension from the viewer by not truely giving them the ending. The…

Ancillary for the MTV Movie Awards 2009. The ancillary; named - The Buzz, was a literal take on a concept created towards the buzz around the MTV Movie Awards. This concept started big and then was shrunk down to be simpler and theatrical in execution (3D, 16:9 ratio, letterboxing).
The Bee's were animated fully in After Effects only the popcorn was done in 3D (Maya). I photographed 360 degrees of a dead bee, disected in photoshop after studying…
This is a short film with a visual and typographical representation of famous Langston Hughes poem "Mother to Son" completed while at Savannah College of Art & Design.
My design choices were a direct reflection of the poem itself. To me Langston took the hardships of life and brought a sense of beauty to them both through his choice of words and through the characterization of strength through the mother. This was what I sought to do "beautify what…

I studied multiple footage of bee flight patterns and movement in order to understand where the critical moving parts in flight would be.
A main photo was chosen for the 'main character bee' and cut and preped…

"mtvU Network IDs" was a series of 5 indents to allow viewers to know they were watching mtvU all while getting a feel for what the network was about.
The concept for these indents was of inclusion of the different sides of mtvU, a college oriented version of MTV. The initial idea was of indents that were lab oriented. From that I combined the ideology of a laboratory with that of the musical basis of the network.
This blossomed into "The Machine"…
