This SI2K Look Reel illustrates the range of looks that can be achieved using the SI2K. The system provides a film look or a clean HD look, based on the need of the production. The SI2K uses a 2/3in, single CMOS chip sensor, to reproduce a film like image that has a dynamic range of 11+ stops. The base ISO is 250/320 Indoor/Outdoor and uses an analogue gain on the sensor to achieve ISO's up to 1200 while minimizing noise.
The system can record uncompressed 12-bit image sequences with sync sound, or can record 10-bit visually loss-less wavelet compressed RAW video. Both are RAW streams that allow for maximum manipulation in the post process. The SI2K also has a removable sensor head, this allows the head to be placed in spaces with limited area, places on a subject as a POV camera, or used with a range of cinema devices intended for the lightweight camera market.
On the other hand, the full system is a shoulder mount ready system with a bit of weight that gives movement a heavy cinematic feel that is hard to achieve with Prosumer, DSLR, or low end Digital Cinema Cameras, such as the Scarlet.
