Immersive Theatre - Client Project

This is my Final year project at Nottingham Trent Uni. I had been given a brief from NSC Creative (A Full Dome animation studio in Leicester Space Center) to produce a short animation that shows all the features one of these full dome theatres has to offer. This was my first major project using After Effects as my first choice of software. I'm still very new to After Effects but this project made me learn so many new techniques. I have discovered how to export the z-depth from Max and use that to get depth of field in AE with the use of a plugin by Frischluft. All the models were created in 3Ds Max 10 and rendered mainly with Mental Ray and some of the 180 Fish eye shots using Final Render. I finally used Premiere Pro Cs4 to create the final edit. Over all I rendered out roughly 8,000 Frames which works out to be nearly 10 Gigabytes of data! The Origin of Mass

This experimental video was created as a final project for my procedural animation course at Savannah College of Art and Design. http://scad.edu It was inspired by demoscene and sub-atomic particle collision images. The name comes from the Higgs Boson prticle which is expected to provide a scientific foundation for the origin of mass in the universe. Freeband - The Ambient Life

Commissioned by: Buro Knapzak / Client: Freeband / Year: 2009 My role: design and direction Freeband Communication and IIPIC share a vision of the future: a world in which information and communication technology render one's surroundings into a thinking and caring environment. The results of the Freeband Communication research program should be visualized in a compelling film. I approached the material using infographics to explain the vast quantities of data. To create a relationship with the continuing technology the film starts with a minimalist introduction in a narrow color spectrum and gradually transitioned to an abundant, multicolored world.
