First video experiential from Tillakaratne produced back in April 2007. The movement of scratchy filmic images are designed to evoke the spirit of the originators of provocation - the dadaists. Both the Proun 97 sound and video artefacts were produced using the TAPM.

I mounted a webcam on my backpack (facing backwards) and plugged a stereo mic into my laptop (held facing forwards). A Processing sketch acquires each frame and keeps a running sum of the last 256 frames. Every 32nd frame it saves the current average to disk. The audio is shrunk to size using SoundStretch. The walk took 45 minutes: from West Hall at RPI, down the Approach, to Hill's art store, to Yo! Uncle Sam's Organic Food, into the Troy Library…

Tillakaratne performed a one off version of Taw at Arc Cafe, Dunedin, New Zealand. The date - November 16th 2007. The time - 19:31. Taw is a radiophonic, location-specific audio experiment where Dada is infused through Schwitter's automatic sound poetry. Valves - broadcast - interference.
