Created for the "Spooky Scary" 5 Second Project at Greyscalegorilla: http://greyscalegorilla.com/blog/2009/10/spooky-scary
Big thanks to:
Brayden McCluskey (brayden.mcc@gmail.com) and Dan Poole for the audio!
In the spirit of disclosure. I'm actually working on a final project and used this 5 second entry as a tester of the aesthetic I'm striving to develop. The animations are all done in AE with the Puppet Tool used to add the more fluid touches. I went to pains to develop the assets as large as possible in Photoshop to avoid scaling issues which I think a lot of raster based animations suffer from.
And, of course, as one eagle eyed Serge has already commented, I reached out to the masters of Monty Python for inspiration: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nKTj7KmxxdA

Animated in After Effects and using a Jack O' Lantern from the 3D Google warehouse.
You're in a deep and black forest, and a weird red thing is following you...
My 2nd "5 seconds project" about "Spooky Scary" ( http://greyscalegorilla.com/ ).

Just think about it… What if you were trapped under something heavy and the mouse was out of your reach? Scary, right? That's exactly why we have these keyboard shortcuts so you can still use Vimeo until the help arrives.
