In 2009, Governor Brian Schweitzer and the Governor's Institute on Community Design held a conference titled Working Forests, Managing Communities. The conference brought together industries, community planners, individuals and state government representatives interested in creating a sustainable future for our working forests, communities, and open spaces. This short documentary, written, filmed, and edited by Sprout Films, kicked off the meeting and helped to engage and inspire participants to think about how they can contribute to the critical issues regarding forest, economic, and social sustainability in Montana.

The YWCA Missoula’s mission is to eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. We helped them with a small part of this tall order by creating a video based on the story of one woman who was helped through the YWCA’s services. Shown at their annual fundraising luncheon, the intent was to share a universal story of need through one brave woman, Megan. With a very small budget but very big hearts, the YWCA and their clients opened up their world to us and let us create this simple animated “portrait” which helped the YWCA exceed their fundraising goals for the luncheon.
Sprout Films http://www.sproutfilms.net worked in collaboration with saltStudio http://www.saltstudio.com to produce this video for the YWCA.
Megan's Story won a Montana Golden Addy and has gone on to win a Northwest Regional Golden Addy!
We created this animated spot as a way for the kids at Missoula Youth Homes to tell their true stories and to capture their personalities without violating their privacy. It has been a successful educational and fundraising tool for this great organization.

This is a promo film highlighting Montana State University's student simulation of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Summit. The course was created by Professor Thomas Goltz. His goal was to provide his Model Arab League students with the opportunity to further develop their debating skills and present them with new intellectual challenges in real-world political issues. In addition, this course also allowed Goltz to include his 'hobby' country of Azerbaijan into the MSU curriculum.

The Vision 2010 Campaign is Colorado College's goal to provide the finest liberal arts education in the country by 2010. At the center of this campaign is Colorado College's dynamic and charismatic President, Dick Celeste. In the fall of 2008, the Colorado College Communications Office approached two CC alumni filmmakers (Katy Garton of Sprout Films & Erin Hudson of Rotation Films) with a vision of their own- to share the Vision 2010 with alumni, donors, and perspective students by adding a human story to the campaign venture- in other words, sharing Dick Celeste's continuing commitment to Vision 2010...what resulted was a 5 min promotional film and a 1.5 min shortened version of the promo.
