The 2012 Los Angeles Institute for Social Innovation took place from February 16 - 20 at the Annenberg Community Beach House in Santa Monica, CA.
The Institute brought together a hundred young leaders from over 14 countries and 26 U.S. States along with 15 experts and practitioners in the field for a five day boot camp in social innovation.

In 2011, Recyclebank and Purpose partnered with StartingBloc for the Social Innovation Competition.
The Fellows competed by using Purpose’s movement building theory to design a consumer-facing engagement strategy that brings Recyclebank’s mission of "motivating individuals and communities to realize a world where nothing is wasted" to the widest possible audience.
