Time lapse sequences of photographs taken by the crew of expeditions

2011, who to my knowledge shot these pictures at an altitude of around 350 km.
All credit goes to them.
HD, refurbished, smoothed, retimed, denoised, deflickered, cut, etc.
All in all I tried to keep the looks of the material as original as possible,
avoided adjusting the colors and the like, since…

A sudden minor shock or meaningless/meaningful interruption...here is a blip of the land of the rising sun. JAPAN!

Last Fall, I spent 5 days exploring Tibet. I wanted to attempt to mimic through these images and sounds how beautifully strange of an experience it was. In some ways, it was breath taking. In other ways, I felt tension and anxiety. Many months later and I still don't completely know how I feel about it.
But -- there's no other place on the planet that I'd rather go back to than Tibet.

3 guys, 44 days, 11 countries, 18 flights, 38 thousand miles, an exploding volcano, 2 cameras and almost a terabyte of footage... all to turn 3 ambitious linear concepts based on movement, learning and food ....into 3 beautiful and hopefully compelling short films.....
= a trip of a lifetime.

I'm George Karellas, a writer, videographer and surf instructor with a passion for travel, beach life and getting lost with my long time travel partner, the old yellow Land Rover.
"The Big Show" is an old Range Rover built in 1973. To avoid the carbon footprint of a new car I recycled an old one by fitting a modern engine, doubling the Range Rover's original fuel economy and meets more recent EU emissions regulations.
So long as we're on land…
A week of backcountry skiing in the Stubai Valley, Austria. I went there with the intention to capture the beauty of the mountains and the feeling of freeing you mind by hiking and riding perfect snow away from the crowds.
This is what I brought home.
Hope you like it
A day at Can Tho in South Vietnam. A trip along the floating market and rice paper factory on the Mekong and a small side river. Hope you like it!!!! vimeo.com/36510602
Just think about it… What if you were trapped under something heavy and the mouse was out of your reach? Scary, right? That's exactly why we have these keyboard shortcuts so you can still use Vimeo until the help arrives.
