Excel Energy has hired a private contractor to cut down or remove the tops of hazardous beetle-killed trees around power lines in the Peak 7 neighborhood of Breckenridge, CO. Workers were instructed to cut the trees and leave them where they fell.

Snowshoeing through Breckenridge's history

The Iowa Hill snowshoe tour is hosted by the Breckenridge Heritage Alliance. Iowa Hill was the site of placer mining in Breckenridge in the 1800's. There are many old mining ruins to be seen, as well as an original miners' boardinghouse which has been restored with artifacts from the period.
