Audi A4 Car Configurator by Neue Digitale / Razorfish in collaboration with Realtime Technology AG.
Showcased at this year’s IAA - the world’s leading automotive fair.
The application allows multiple users to configure an Audi A4 simultaneously by changing the car's paint finishes, rims and by selecting and coloring style package components. The configured A4 is experienced in an immersive 3d environment, in which users can navigate seamlessly by zooming and panning using a multitouch-enabled interface.

At Phenomblue we are constantly being asked to push the limits of technology by our clients and the Surface machine is no exception. We decided to spend $100 on some additional memory and a new graphics card to see if the changes would have any effects on performance. See the upgrade process, metrics, and side by side comparisons.

Microsoft Surface - Moppet Mashup

On location and walkthrough video of "Moppet Mashup", the latest Phenomblue Microsoft Surface experience created for the Big Omaha event in May/09. The experience is an engaging multi-user puppet theater riven by the Surface machine and displayed on a massive rear projection screen bringing the personalized photo generated puppets to life size. Moments during the experience could be captured via Twitter/Twitpic by allowing the users to save screenshots to Twitpic and then notify the world via a Twitter post form the event's official Twitter account.

GENESIS - A Closer Look

This is a deeper look at the 3D Microsoft Surface application we created recently for SxSW and Mix. Partnering with Microsoft, we designed custom ChromaDepth 3D glasses and distributed them to attendees of both events who wanted to try their hand at collaboratively creating a galaxy from scratch. It was a massive hit on the show floor.

We created a proof of concept for this line-of-business application for sushi restaurants. It allows diners to interactively view the menu, get info about items and watch videos of how they're made, and place their order, all by touch on the Surface machine.

Table Toss (Microsoft Surface Game)

Table Toss is a Microsoft Surface game in which players take turns tossing bean bags towards a target. Scoring is determined by the distance of each bean bag from the center bulls-eye. Each bean bag contains a unique Microsoft Surface tag to associate the score to each player. The combination of a baseball theme and photo-realistic particle effects creates a one-of-a-kind experience on Surface.

XRay is a mashup of Microsoft Surface and the iPhone. Stimulant created a Surface application that reveals photographs, but by laying an iPhone on Surface, more layers of imagery are revealed, synced in real time with the upper image layers shown on Surface. The only limit to how many iPhones can be used at once is, well, how many iPhones you have handy.

Hotel1000 - Surface Application Overview

The default applications that come with Microsoft Surface are Music, Photos and Concierge. We took the branding from Hotel1000 and ensured there was a consistent experience for their guests when using Microsoft Surface. Also as shown in the video this is the first time you'll see the external media card reader in action, a new feature for Microsoft Surface.

What do you get when you mash-up Microsoft Surface with a Wii Balance Board? Pressure-sensitive surface computing! Yes, the Surface is sitting directly on the Balance Board (it supports 600 pounds, we checked). Here, Josh demonstrates a simple application that lets users create bubbles of various sizes and roll them around the table using pressure on the edges of the Surface. You also get a sneak peek at the WPF/Silverlight physics engine we've been working on as well. Pressure sensitivity adds an extra dimension to the Surface experience and opens new doors on an already highly advanced platform.
