TACSI Bold Ideas Better Lives Challenge

The Bold Ideas, Better Lives Challenge 2010 asked Australia what kind of initiatives could help address unmet social needs.

We were looking for ideas that were innovative, that were implementable and that had the opportunity to create real, positive impact for communities in Australia.

We've been thrilled by the massive response to the Challenge in Stage 1 - we received more than 250 application from all over Australia (and a few from around the world) addressing issues from homelessness to healthcare, energy usage to education.

We've shortlisted 12 of these applications who will spend the next 3 months developing a full project plan to present to our judges for the final stage (for more info check out tacsi.org.au/challenge) but there were so many great ideas submitted and we wanted to share them with you.

Every application was asked to submit a 'pitch', a media file that summarised their project. We've posted most of them here so you can see, and be inspired by some of the great ideas and dedicated people working to make Australia a better place.
