The Tasman Op Shop and Community Library Inc is a hub of social activity. The Op Shop is staffed by a friendly team of mostly senior volunteers. Fresh produce, free range eggs, jams and chutneys, electrical goods and furniture are sold on commission and second hand clothing and bric a brac are donated. Funds generated are channeled back into the Tasman Peninsula community.

Every week a group of senior residents meet at the Community Hall in Taranna to participate in the Tasman U3A (University of the Third Age). Tasman U3A hosts a variety of well informed talks often given by experts in their chosen field or profession. The sessions are intellectually stimulating, humourous and informative, often sparking lively discussion.
