Alright friends and fans, 2011 is almost upon us and so too is the second season of The Creative Lives. To celebrate the new year and the new season we have decided to give away a beautiful Kelsey Brookes print to the first person to correctly guess the artists featured in this short teaser trailer for Season 2. Here’s how it works:
Watch the trailer below, you will see two shots of each artists’ hands as they create, also you will hear sound bites of people we interviewed last season for the show. The first person to email contest@thecreativelives.com with all the names of the artists featured in all soundbites and all video clips (hint there are 11 artists soundbites, and 10 artists hands featured) will win this incredible Pictures on Walls Print by Kelsey Brookes, valued at over $300.
If no one has a perfect score by Jan 10th 2011 we will award the print to the contestant who has the most correct answers. On Jan 17th 2011 we will announce the winner and premiere a proper trailer for…
Jimmy DiMarcellis (aka Porous Walker) is a Napa, CA based artist who specializes in the absurd. Jimmy’s hilarious drawings, creative sculptures and installations remind us that humor is the highest art. In this feature we meet up with Jimmy at his studio and follow him along as he installs two shows in San Francisco, one wildly creative install at Receiver Gallery, and one more clean narrative driven install at the San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery.
The Creative Lives is a documentary project aimed at inspiring people to create their own work by giving them a view into the world of today’s contemporary artists. Each documentary not only shows how these artists create their work, but also attempts to find out why they do what they do and who has helped or inspired them to get to where they are. My goal is to hopefully inspire young artists to pursue their dreams by showing
The Creative Lives is a documentary project aimed at inspiring people to create their own work by giving them a view into the world of today’s contemporary artists. Each documentary not only shows how these artists create their work, but also attempts to find out why they do what they do and who has helped or inspired them to get to where they are. My goal is to hopefully inspire young artists to pursue their dreams by showing how some of the great contemporary artists of today started their careers and how they continue to grow and change their artistic perspective. I hope you enjoy the project and the artists within. Thanks so much,
Just think about it… What if you were trapped under something heavy and the mouse was out of your reach? Scary, right? That's exactly why we have these keyboard shortcuts so you can still use Vimeo until the help arrives.
