    Homelessfonts is an Arrels Foundation initiative which consists of creating a collection of typefaces based on the handwriting of homeless. The idea behind these typefaces is for people and brands to use them in their announcements. All profits are intended to help the 1400 people supported by the Arrels Foundation.

  4. The Make&Mold project

    The Make&Mold Project started as a low cost thermoplastic modelling process, in order to reclaim industrial materials and technique's used in conventional plastic molding industry. This self-developed process is patented and consist of various intelligent production processes, based on a single wall molding technique.

    Due to the low processing temperature of the biodegradable granules we found a way to use a balloon as a flexible mold. After filling the balloon with biodegradable thermoplastic granules we sculpt the mold into an object. When the mold is dipped in hot water the granules melt and bond. After cooling we remove the balloon and a unique object is finshed.

  5. In 1689 Isaac Newton conducted an experiment where he hung by a rope a bucket filled with water.
    The rope is twisted up tightly on itself and then the bucket is released beginning to spin rapidly. Here
    Newton’s description of what happens:
    “The surface of the water will at first be flat, as before the bucket began to move; but after
    that, the bucket by gradually communicating its motion to the water, will make it begin to revolve,
    and recede little by little from the centre, and ascend up the sides of the bucket, forming itself into a
    concave figure.”
    Inspired by this experiment we have exchanged the rope for a turntable, the bucket for a hollow
    hemisphere and water for non-toxic resin to create a series of bowls that capture this moment in
    time, which will always make each piece unique.
    We use different colours of resin to show the way the liquid moves whilst travelling through
    inertia. To make the most of this we have also created tools to disrupt the flow of the material and
    highlight the process.
    The outside shape of the bowl is determined by the “bucket”, in this case a hemisphere, the inside is a
    perfect parabola created by the dual effect of gravity and inertia.
