Rising from the years of reclusive habits when he haphazardly recorded albums at home with hand-drawn album art, Chris recorded the 5-track EP 'Answers' more sincerely in April 2011. Composed of previously recorded material that was revised and revisited, the album highlights the songwriter’s eclectic style, blending lyrical introspection with melodic accessibility. After directing a drama in the 2011 Victoria Fringe Festival, the Canadian singer-songwriter released the music video for 'Depending On The Day', and went on a BC tour to promote the album.
Now in the midst of perfecting a full-length album and finishing his degree at The University Of Victoria, Chris looks forward to devoting more time to his musical passion. Although the new album, 'No Connection', stays true to the folk-pop sentimentality of 'Answers', it wanders from lyrical literalism to ambiguity, and encompasses more musical complexity than the previous album. Before the dawn of DIY myspace promotion and the barrage of online wannabes, Lindsay Bryan was hard at work plotting her musical destiny. Raised on British Columbia’s Southern Gulf Islands, Lindsay found her passion at a young age. At 5, Lindsay was enrolled in piano lessons but she wouldn’t discover her true calling as a songwriter until she picked up a guitar at age 11. Self taught, Lindsay drew inspiration from infectious 90’s pop/rock, hoping to become a guitar legend playing amongst the big boys. However, those rock god dreams tapered when she discovered the release she felt while penning her acoustic folk/pop tunes.
Lindsay moved away from the islands to broaden her opportunities in Victoria, BC. She recorded her first demos with producer Daniel Elmes (Dan Mangan, Sweatshop Union) and submitted them to the David Foster Star Search competition, earning a spot in the top 10 of her region. Sunday Buckets is a band in name and brotherhood. The young band of six grew up together on Vancouver Island and have been writing from personal experiences thereby giving Sunday Buckets authentic credibility. Often described as indie-pop, or indie-rock, they are a band that manages to transcend many different genres. They have two albums under their belt, In Case You Hear This (2009) and the highly anticipated release of Curious Crimes (2011).
