Poko poko means 'take it easy' in Papiamentu (the language they speak in Bonaire). The whole video is based around that theme. I didn't add too many effects except for a bit of slow motion and some colour correction. I have mainly focussed on matching the video with the music. Have fun watching the video and 'Poko poko' :)
My name's Florian Cao, I live in France. I'm 25 and I began windsurfing at the age of 12. My favorite disciplines are freestyle and waveriding. Being fascinated by freestyle, I decided to participate in this competition to present my vision of this discipline and why not realize a dream, to sail in Bonaire!!
I had to present this sport in the best way, the choice of the musics was instinctively made. For me Kiri, Tonky and Taty are the best representatives…
My name is Arthur, and I’m a South African living in the UK, been windsurfing for one year and it’s the been the best year of my life. I don’t know much about freestyle but loved making this clip, and listening to the song about 1000 times over during the process! My dream has always been to visit the Carribean, but the closest I’ve ever gotten to there was Istanbul.. Fail. Hope you like the vid, and crank up the volume please!
Me and my friend went to Dahab (Egypt) in November this year. We wanted to edit our own freestyle film, but unfortunately the conditions all the days were far from perfect. That is why back in Russia I decided to edit the clips from the umi Bonaire editing competition. The whole process took me about 20 days as I did it on an old Macbook, besides it's my first experience with Final Cut Pro X.
I am Juan Fernando Guerrero, 18 years old, born and grown up in Lima, Perú. I had a great time editing the footage and want to thank umi pictures, the three riders and the sponsors who made this possible. I just wanted to say that it was amazing to have a chance to work with incredible footage. This is the first freestyle windsurfing video I have ever edited and hope you all like it :D.
I tried to find the harmony between the style of Kiri, Taty…
In May/June 2011 we went to Bonaire to film top freestylers Kiri Thode and Tonky and Taty Frans windsurfing at their home spot Lac Sorobon. The footage went online for the umi Bonaire editing competition, where contestants could download the clips and edit them into an action video.
We got 36 entries from all over the world, all of which are displayed here. The number of views it receives here will count towards the grand

Just think about it… What if you were trapped under something heavy and the mouse was out of your reach? Scary, right? That's exactly why we have these keyboard shortcuts so you can still use Vimeo until the help arrives.
