This is the third and last part of a documentary of a Banda Sea trip I did in 2011. After having visited the Snake Island Gunung Api we turned south west towards Wetar, a big island which belongs to the southern moluccan island group. From there we reached Alor, another Indonesian hotspot of marine biodiversity. Our trip ended in the port of Maumere on central Flores.
This is the second part of a documentary of a Banda Sea trip I did in 2011. After we left the Banda Islands we turned west towards the Penyu- und Lucipara Islands with excellent wall dives and endless visibility. Still further west we sailed to Gunung Api, a lonely volcano in the vast Banda Sea and home of extremely poisonous sea snakes.
This is the first part of a documentary of a Banda Sea trip I did in 2011. We started in Ambon, visited the Banda islands and crossed the Banda Sea passing the Penyu- and Lucipara Islands. We also visited Gunung Api with its many sea snakes. From Wetar we continued our trip further west, visited Alor and eventually left our ship - M/V Amira - in Maumere.

A young diver sees the reefs for the first time and is blown away by them. The Golden Oldies in the dive group reflect on how the young diver does not realize how much better it all once was, and how the natural World has degraded without us REALLY noticing since it happens over time…
This is some footage from Lombok, Indonesia. We spent some days in Sekotong Bay in the south-western part of this island east of Bali. Diving was not bad. Some diving agencies are promoting Sekotong Bay as the new critter hotspot in Indonesia. This is however slightly exaggerated. Sekotong Bay has some nice dive sites especially for beginners and it is not as crowded as the Gilis further north.
