Eine Dokumentation über einen Menschen mit Down-Syndrom und seine Gemeinde. Der Film zeigt einen bundesweit einzigartigen Fall von Inklusion. Dargestellt wird nicht nur das Leben unseres Protagonisten Uwe Pelzel, sondern vor allen Dingen die soziale Struktur, in der er lebt. Was von politischer Seite mit dem Begriff "Inklusion" definiert und auch in der UN-Behindertenrechtskonvention (institut-fuer-menschenrechte.de/dav/Dokumente/UN%20BR%20Konvention.pdf ) gefordert wird, ist hier seit 65 Jahren selbstverständlich. Uwe ist Mitglied in sämtlichen Vereinen, bis vor wenigen Jahren gab es sogar jährlich den legendären Uwe-Pelzel-Tenniscup.

Ein Film ohne Off-Kommentar, Geschichte und Geschichten werden ausschließlich von den Bürgern der Gemeinde erzählt. Dem Thema, sonst mit Schwere diskutiert, wird hier mit Leichtigkeit begegnet. Dieser Film macht Hoffnung.
